What is the Lower Rio Grande Water Users Organization (LRGWUO)?
This organization represents public bodies that reside in south-central New Mexico. The LRGWUO is the public entity that has been given the mandate to guide the regional planning effort in this region.

- Dona Ana Mutual Domestic Water Consumers Association
- The Town of Mesilla
- The Anthony Water and Sanitation District
- The Village of Hatch
- New Mexico State University
- Elephant Butte Irrigation District
What is the region?
The LRGWUO has defined it's boundary for regional planning as Dona Ana County and that portion of Sierra County that is within the EBID boundary. It also includes the Hueco Bolson of Otero County. The area excluded the Tularosa and Mimbres basins in the county.
What is the Regional Water plan?
The Lower Rio Grande Water Users Organization has developed a regional water plan for Dona Ana County and a portion of Sierra County within the Elephant Butte Irrigation District (EBID) boundary. The plan was developed with funding provided by the New Mexico Interstate Stream Commission and members of the Lower Rio Grande Water Users Organization.
